Poland brings BAT regulations to court

– The government of Republic of Poland has decided to bring a complaint to the Court of Justice of the European Union for annulment of the decision about BAT conclusions – found out BiznesAlert.pl.

The first group of accusations contains  too strict and inadequate emission levels bound with best available techniques. Ministry of Environment claims that those levels have been based on false or unrepresentative data.

Second group of accusations refers to the decision as a whole. Ministry of Environment claims that a wrong voting arrangement has been used whilst adopting the BAT conclusions.

BAT conclusions (best available techniques) shape the air pollution norms for energy undertakings. They introduce more strict criteria for sulfur dioxide or oxides of nitrogen.

Lotos will buy gas from PGNiG. It will not be engaged in Norwegian Corridor

PGNiG will remain a strategic gas supplier for LOTOS Group. Both companies signed a new contract on gas trade on Wednesday. The deal will be in power until 30 September 2020 with an option of prolonging for two years. The overall value of the new contract if it is in function for five years, may reach around PLN 3,1 billion.

A contract signed today is a continuation of strategic partners’ cooperation, Polish companies of Oil&Gas sector. LOTOS and PGNiG are Poland’s leading hydrocarbons producers, and that is why we are open for further cooperation in this area – said Marcin Jastrzębski, LOTOS CEO.
