Orlen consolidates mining and exploration assets

Orlen is completing the process of integrating companies producing crude oil and natural gas. The aim of this process is to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and stabilize the level of gas production. Assets dispersed after the merger with Grupa Lotos and PGNiG will be integrated around the company Orlen Upstream Poland.

Orlen finalises one of the largest transactions on domestic renewable energy market

Orlen Wind 3, a subsidiary of the Orlen Group, has finalised a deal with EDP Renewables Polska to acquire two solar PV farms located in the Provinces of Zielona Góra and Poznań and a wind farm in the Province of Łódź. The newly acquired assets will increase Group’s renewable energy generation capacity by over 300 MW.

Orlen will support protection of life on the Baltic Sea

The „Baltic Biodiversity Grant” is a new grant program of the Orlen for Pomerania Foundation, the aim of which is to support activities for the protection of diverse life forms, species and ecosystems in the waters of the Baltic Sea and to increase public awareness of the importance of protecting the Baltic environment. The total pool of grants is four million zlotys, and applicants can apply for up to 500 thousand zlotys for initiatives contributing to the protection of Baltic biodiversity.

Orlen will start modernizing its distribution grid

As reported by the company, the European Investment Bank has granted Orlen PLN 3.5 billion for strategic grid development, including connections for renewable energy sources, modernization and investment in a smart grid. The first of the signed contracts amounts to PLN 900 million. The program will be executed by Energa Operator.

Orlen has launched a program to help flood victims

Orlen Group has launched a special program called “We are together,” to which it has so far donated 35 million zlotys. The funds, among other things, finance fuel for services fighting the flood, allow for the removal of its consequences and support for those affected by the natural disaster.

Orlen invests in micro photovoltaic installations

Orlen is planning to build 40 photovoltaic micro-installations of about 20 to 50 kWp on the shelters and roofs of its fuel stations, including those in Białystok, Bydgoszcz, Gdansk, Krakow, Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw and Szczecin. The corporation has announced procurement proceedings related to the project.

Orlen started oil production in the North Sea

PGNiG Upstream Norway of the Orlen Group has begun producing oil from the Tyrving field in the North Sea, whose reserves are estimated at around 25 million barrels. Their production will be carried out with exceptionally low CO2 emissions of 0.3 kg per barrel, the company said on Tuesday.
