– Our company has signed the contracts for the preparation of the design documentation and the provision of the services of the author’s supervision over the construction of the Gustorzyn – Wronów gas pipeline, sections: Gustorzyn – Leśniewice and Leśniewice – Rawa Mazowiecka. We plan to obtain the building permit for the implementation of the two investments at the end of 2020 – said Artur Zawartko, the Vice President of Gaz-System.

– The construction of these pipelines will improve the security of gas supplies, in particular to the metropolitan areas of Warsaw and Łódź, to Radom and to the south-eastern regions of the country – added Vice President Zawartko. The investment projects fit to the long-term strategy of the company development, the purpose of which is to ensure the flexibility of the entire transmission system and to connect new (both individual and industrial) customers. Additionally, natural gas is one of the most environmentally friendly fuels, which is more and more often used to combat increasing pollution of air in cities.

The route of the two sections of the designed gas pipelines will cross 3 voivodeships: Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Łódź and Mazovian. The author of the documentation of its first section with the length of ca. 60 km will be OTS-IP. The documentation of the second section with the length of ca. 100 km will be prepared by ILF Consulting Engineers Polska and PGNiG GAZOPROJEKT. The duties of the entities selected in the result of a tender procedure will include the procurement of the administrative decisions on the environmental conditions of the investment, on establishing the location of the investment project, and the building permit. Both Contractors will also perform the author’s supervision over the implementation of the projects.

Gaz-System consistently expands its transmission network all over the country. The Company’s Investment Plan for 2018-2020 assumes the implementation of projects with the total value of PLN 7.7 billion. The Gustorzyn-Wronów gas pipeline with diameter DN 1000 MOP 8.4 MPa, which is a key investment, has been divided into 3 stages. The first of them to commence the design stage was the longest Rawa Mazowiecka – Wronów section with the length of ca. 156 km, for which the company signed the contract with its Contractor in April 2018. The total length of all three newly designed sections is estimated to reach 316 km.

The investment will be implemented pursuant to the Act of 24 April 2009 on investments related to the liquefied natural gas regasification terminal in Świnoujście (consolidated text: Journal of Laws 2017.2302, as amended) – the so-called “Special Purpose Gas Act”.
