The energy crisis was caused by Gazprom slashing the supply of Russian gas. The Kremlin can now trigger an anti-crisis in order to break the West’s resolve in a period of uncertainty about the role of Ukraine – writes Wojciech Jakóbik, editor-in-chief at BiznesAlert.pl.

The Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy, announced via social media that Poland had received a bank wire from the REPowerEU program. The amount is five billion euros, which is to be invested in green energy and technologies that support it.

The head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen at a meeting with Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Poland by the end of the year will receive an advance for the National Reconstruction Plan (KPO) in the amount of 5 billion euros (approx. PLN 22 billion).

The European Commission has approved Poland’s EUR 59.8 billion National Recovery Plan, which includes a chapter on REPowerEU energy, aimed at abandoning dependence on Russia.

According to Reuters, interest in joint gas purchases promoted by Poland since 2014 has exceeded the expectations. The European Commission wants this mechanism to remain in place forever.
