Alteration of the Wiczlino gas distribution node in Pomerania at an end

Doubled capacity of the reduction lines will improve the system operation parameters from the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście to the Gustorzyn node. It will also enable a reliable supply of the Pomerania region with gas. The alteration will also be beneficial to local residents – the node will generate less noise.

The GAZ-SYSTEM branch in Gdańsk altered the node using its own resources. Construction works were carried out by the employees of the Gas Technical Emergency Unit, with the cooperation of the network and facilities operation departments. The scope of works included mainly the alteration of the (inlet and outlet) headers and of both reduction lines, along with valving, as well as modernization of the existing gas pressure reducers and installation of silencers. Additionally, the diameters of the lines were enlarged.

The Wiczlino Gas Distribution Node was constructed in 2011 and is located in the town of Wiczlino in the Gdynia commune. It ensures pressure reduction and gas transmission from the Włocławek-Gdynia and Wiczlino-Reszki-Kosakowo gas pipelines to the Pruszcz Gdański-Wiczlino gas pipeline supplying, among others, the Tricity agglomeration.

Technical parameters of the node after alteration:

The modernization of the Wiczlino Gas Distribution Node (WRG) was carried out as part of the alteration of the Reszki-Wiczlino gas pipeline. This gas pipeline with a length of 8 km and a diameter of 700 mm will be located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the Wejherowo commune and the city of Gdynia. The route of the pipeline will partially run along the existing high-pressure gas pipeline with a diameter of 500 mm. The Regional Environmental Protection Director in Gdańsk issued a decision on environmental constraints for this project on July 9, 2018.
