In China, Poland is perceived as a gateway that may open cooperation with the EU, said the Polish Prime Minister, Beata Szydło last Friday. „Very specific propositions on what we can do together have come up,” she added.

During a press conference, the prime minister said she had spoken with the Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Kequiang about economic matters, including possible cooperation. She stressed that the meetings lasted longer than planned.

„Very concrete propositions appeared, we had a very meaningful conversation on what we can do together,” reported Szydło. She also added that the Chinese partners were interested in investments, modern technologies, tourism and agriculture.

The head of the Polish government assessed that the contracts signed with the Chinese partners, as well as her talks with Chinese leaders showed that „the Chinese government started to notice Poland when it comes to economic cooperation.”

„Poland is perceived here as a gateway that may open cooperation to the EU and this is being noticed,” commented Szydło. She also pointed that this was visible during her talks with businessmen. Szydło added that she had met with representatives of China’s nine biggest companies.
