Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure appointed

The Prime Minister appointed Maciej Bando as the Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure. The appointment was made by Paulina Hennig-Kloska, the Minister of Climate and Environment.

„Maciej Bando is a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology and has a postgraduate degree in business and management. He has won many awards and honors, including EuroPower „Man Of The Year”, „Amber of Polish Energy Industry”, „Platinum Megawatt” – the award of the Polish Power Exchange, „Optimus” – the award of the Employers of the Republic of Poland,” reports the Climate Ministry. „He acquired his knowledge and experience as an advisor, project manager, department director and member of a management board and supervisory boards. For decades, he has been associated with the energy sector in the sub-sector of production and distribution. Since 2011, he worked first as Vice President and then as President of the Energy Regulatory Office,” the press release said.

„After the end of the term in mid-2019 he returned to advisory work. He shares his unique experience gained at Elektrownie Szczytowo-Pompowe S. A. (now PGE EO S. A.), PGE Dystrybucja S. A., a design and engineering company called Systra S. A., and as a regulator of the Polish energy market by conducting trainings and courses,” the Ministry said.

The Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure has previously supervised Polish Nuclear Power Plants, PERN, Gaz-System and Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne. The position was created on the basis of a government resolution.
