ElectroMobility Poland, the company responsible for designing Poland’s first electric car, has received permission to build a factory in Jaworzno. The car that will be produced there is called Izera.

„The President of the City of Jaworzno has issued a permit for the construction of a production plant for the Izera electric cars in the Jaworzno Economic Area. Obtaining a permit for the construction of the factory formally allows us to start construction,” reports ElectroMobility Poland.

The first stage of the project, covered by the permit, involves development on 169,000 square meters of land in the Jaworzno  Economic Zone, where a plant capable of producing 300,000 cars annually will be built. ElectroMobility Poland estimates that by the end of 2026 the plant will be able to employ about two thousand people.

The company states that the building permit was preceded by the decision of the President of Dąbrowa Górnicza on the environmental conditions of the project on January 30, 2024. The process of verification of technical, business, legal and other assumptions related to the current activities of ElectroMobility Poland has also been completed.

„All the collected documents and analyses made in recent weeks – including the results of the due diligence process of the investment – were handed over to representatives of the state administration supervising the functioning of EMP. The company also obtained a permit for the construction of a production plant in Jaworzno, which – once approved – completes the formal process related to the preparation for investment, allowing the start of construction work. The analytical work carried out, the documentation presented and the results of previous audits and controls are the basis for a reliable assessment of the project and will allow making ownership decisions,” commented Paweł Poneta, Acting President of ElectroMobility Poland.

The „Izera” project has been a topic of discussion in Poland for several years. According to the original plans, serial production of the T100 and Z100 models, the first two proposals of Izera, was to start in 2024. The start of construction of the factory in Jaworzno was planned in the third quarter of 2021. The latest decision of the local governments in Jaworzno and Dąbrowa Górnicza and the positive result of the audit of the activities of ElectroMobility Poland mean that nothing stands in the way of the start of construction work.
