The Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland will acquire repair kits, laboratory equipment, ammunition trucks and trainings for Pilica+air defense systems.
The Armament Agency announced the signing of an executive contract on July 4th to acquire Pilica+ missile and artillery systems (MAS). The other party to the agreement is the PGZ-Pilica+ consortium. The deal includes the supply of logistics packages, training and laboratory equipment for the operation of the 21 ZRA Pilica+.
Under the agreement, the Polish Army will acquire:
- Group kits – enabling the repair of all components of the Pilica+ system, along with assemblies, subassemblies, and spare parts. They will be stored during peacetime.
- Repair kits-enabling similar repair as group kits, but stocked for wartime.
- Maintenance and repair workshops (WOR I and II) – together with field type semi-trailers (used for transporting group and repair kits) intended for securing in field conditions the processes of technical maintenance and repair of ZRA PILICA+ components.
- Transport-loading vehicles-capable of transporting up to eight CAMM+missiles.
- Laboratory equipment-which will ensure the process of training the staff of Pilica+ and the management of the subdivisions equipped with them.
In addition, PGZ-Pilica+ is obliged to develop and provide an executive design for an ammunition vehicle, a laboratory and technical documentation of the acquired equipment, conduct training and technical support.
The Armament Agency also notes that the components included in the ZRA Pilica+ package will have individual sets of spare parts. The value of the contract is about PLN 400 million gross and will be implemented in the years 2024-2029.
The agreement for the Pilica+ programme was concluded on October 4, 2022. Anti-aircraft missile systems are to serve as the basic anti-aircraft systems of the Air Defense Forces.
