Orlen Group has launched a special program called “We are together,” to which it has so far donated 35 million zlotys. The funds, among other things, finance fuel for services fighting the flood, allow for the removal of its consequences and support for those affected by the natural disaster.

As part of the program, Orlen will also engage in activities related to the reconstruction of damaged areas and assistance to local communities.

“We are together” includes funds donated directly by the company, as well as those collected through special actions carried out jointly with customers or employees.

Since the first days of the flood, the Orlen Group has donated more than 11 million zlotys to emergency services and the most affected municipalities and counties. Support has been given primarily to fire departments, water rescue units, the Police and local services.

To date, the State and volunteer fire departments and water rescue units have refueled more than half a million liters of fuel free of charge. In turn,  3 million zlotys went to the provincial Police Support Funds as funds to offset fuel costs, among other things. The firefighters and police officers involved in the flood relief operation were treated to more than 11,000 cups of coffee and tea.

Orlen Group’s activities also included in-kind support in the form of equipment, chemicals and flood control bags – both for the State Fire Service and the local governments. The municipalities of Ladek-Zdroj and Stronie Slaskie, as well as the affected districts of the Lower Silesia and Opole provinces, are receiving fuel worth a total of more than 1 million zlotys.

– Since the first days, we have been working closely with the services involved in combating the effects of the flood and local governments, and now we are expanding the list of partners to include aid organizations. As a result, about 30 million zlotys from Orlen’s own funds, corporate foundations and the remaining money we have collected through special campaigns will be used effectively – said Lidia Kolucka, Orlen’s Executive Director of Sponsorship.

As part of the long-term activities of the “We are together” program, aimed at rebuilding damaged areas and eliminating the effects of the floods, Orlen will, among other things, donate 10 million zlotys to aid organizations such as the Polish Humanitarian Action and the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Similarly, funds from a collection conducted among Group employees will also be distributed. At the same time, every zloty donated by employees is doubled by Orlen Group corporate foundations.

“We’re Together” also represented 4.1 million zlotys – the total amount raised by the company last weekend from the sale of coffee and tea at Orlen stations throughout Poland. The campaign organized by the conglomerate was very successful, as evidenced by the fact that one of the best sales results in the last two years was achieved during those days. Those affected by the elements are also supported by participants in the Orlen Vitay loyalty program, donating the points collected. Each 5,000 points is equivalent to 25 zlotys. The funds will go to organizations supporting the fight against the effects of the flood.
