KGHM – Cedynia Wire Rod Plant powered by 100% green energy

In 2024, the Cedynia Wire Rod Plant was powered entirely by electricity generated from renewable energy sources (RES) owned by the KGHM. Green energy was also supplied to the Legnica Copper Smelter. This is another stage in KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. increasing the share of renewable energy in its energy mix.

Announcement of changes in the copper tax – additional funds for KGHM’s domestic investments

On Friday 23 May 2025, the government officially announced a modification of the copper tax calculation rules. The proposed changes will support the investments necessary for the further development of KGHM and, as a result, the entire Polish Copper Belt region. They can also help in the efforts of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. to reduce the costs of mining. The announced changes are the result of months of dialogue between the Management Board of KGHM and the government.

Registration of KGHM copper cathodes on the American derivatives exchange (CME)

Another confirmation of the world-class quality and stable production volumes of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Copper cathodes produced at the Głogów Copper Smelter have been registered on the American CME exchange. This is the fourth international metal exchange where KGHM cathodes have been registered.

Improvement in the Operational and Financial Results of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Group

The KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Group achieved a net profit of PLN 2.87 billion in 2024. The production of payable copper reached 730 thousand tonnes, representing a 3% y/y increase. During the same period, the Group’s revenues amounted to PLN 35.3 billion, reflecting a 6% y/y growth. The copper company also recorded a significant increase in EBITDA at both standalone (+25% y/y) and consolidated levels (+58% y/y).

Orlen opens its second hydrogen station in Poland

Orlen has launched its second nationwide publicly accessible hydrogen station in Katowice. Fuel for the Silesian station is supplied from the hydrogen hub in Włocławek, which opened this year. The ORLEN Group has a total of four publicly accessible hydrogen fueling stations: in Poland (Poznań and Katowice) and in the Czech Republic (Prague and Litvínov).

Solar energy in Chęciny or 195 MW of clean power for Poland

One of Poland’s largest renewable energy investments is under construction in Chęciny. It’s Industria’s 195 MW photovoltaic farm, which is capable of providing clean power to 78,000 households and generating up to PLN 35 million for the municipality over 25 years.

Orlen to receive nearly one billion for expanding energy distribution network
