Polish Briefing: The Sejm accepted the bill on electromobility

What goes on in Poland on the 12th of January.

The Sejm accepted the bill on electromobility

Polish Sejm has accepted the bill on electromobility and alternative fuels. 235 MPs voted for, 165 were against, 18 abstained from voting.

The bill provides a system of encouragements like removal of excise duty for electric cars and PHEV vehicles, exempting them from parking fees and bigger depreciations for companies. It also assumes building new base infrastructure for alternative fuels in agglomerations, densely populated areas and along transeuropean road transport corridors, what will help these vehicles move freely. It is planned that until 2020, 6 thousand electric charging points of normal power, 400 points of high power and 70 CNG (compressed gas) tanking points will be built.

It also assumes creating clean transport zones by local communities. According to Ministry of Energy’s drafts, a local community could charge cars with traditional internal combustion engines with a PLN 30 (€ 7,5) a day. These changes have been crossed out during parliamentary commission works.

Gaz-System has obtained all decisions to build another gas pipeline in the south of Poland

The Voivode of Śląskie Voivodeship has issued a building permit for the Tworóg-Tworzeń pipeline. The investment project will be implemented as part of the construction of the Hermanowice – Strachocina – Pogórska Wola – Tworzeń – Tworóg – Odolanów pipeline together with the infrastructure necessary for its operation in the territory of Podkarpackie, Świętokrzyskie, Małopolskie, Śląskie, Opolskie and Dolnośląskie voivodeships.

The high-pressure gas pipeline with a length of over 55 km and a diameter of 1000 mm will be constructed along existing pipelines in the territory of seven communes of Śląskie Voivodeship: Tworóg, Tarnowskie Góry, Miasteczko Śląskie, Ożarowice, Mierzęcice, Siewierz and Dąbrowa Górnicza.

From the west it will be connected with the Tworóg – Kędzierzyn-Koźle pipeline, and from the east with the Pogórska Wola – Tworzeń pipeline.
