Krupiński Mine: The opposition wants the control of the Supreme Audit Office

During the sitting of the Sejm Energy and Treasury Committee, a request was made that the Supreme Audit Office should scrutinize the process related to the liquidation of the Krupiński Mine. It was submitted by Krzysztof Gadowski, MP of the Civic Platform. The proposal was supported by deputies Robert Winnicki (unaffiliated) and Krzysztof Sitarski from Kukiz’15.

– I am asking for control of NIK for the liquidation of the Krupiński mine. We have the complexity of taking up the topic in the first element when the decision was made at the end of the year and the transfer date, March 31, 2016, when Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa recorded about PLN 1 billion in profit and the price of coking coal increased by 250 percent – said the politician.

During the speech he reminded about the team appointed by the Minister of Energy. He referred to the statements of some of its members who were to have doubts about the decision to shut down Krupiński. – The minister of energy has appointed a team of 15 representatives. There was also a professor, a PiS senator who wrote in the report, among others „with some respect for all team members, I think that my participation in the team, as well as its appointment is a misunderstanding, because I got the impression that  versions other than just transferring the Krupiński mine to the Spółka Restrukturyzacji Kopalń (SRK) were not considered seriously. The decision presented in the recommendation was taken earlier, therefore the content of the report is such and not different and is not subject to change – said MP Gadowski.

Poland’s MFA: Baltic Pipe brings Poland and Denmark together

“We have a similar assessment of challenges to energy security of Central and Eastern Europe and Ukraine’s stability, we also share a common view in the context of transatlantic relations,” said Deputy Minister Bartosz Cichocki at a meeting with analysts from the Danish Foreign Policy Society (Det Udenrigspolitiske Selskab) who are on a study-visit to Poland.

The participants discussed Polish-Danish relations and the main goals of Polish foreign policy in the area of security, such as energy security and Eastern issues. Deputy Minister Bartosz Cichocki emphasized the close cooperation between Poland and Denmark, their similar goals and positions in many areas of regional cooperation, European agenda and security-related issues. He noted with satisfaction that the two countries cooperate effectively in the implementation of the Baltic Pipe gas supply corridor project.

The Danish Foreign Policy Society was founded in 1946. Its goal is to promote interest and raise awareness of foreign policy and international affairs in Denmark by holding debates, conferences and other events with the participation of leading Danish and foreign speakers, including politicians and academics.
