What goes in Poland on 20th of June.

More Polish harbors

„New quays are to be constructed in Gdynia, Szczecin and Świnoujście, while in Gdańsk the trans-shipments will increase threefold,” writes the Puls Biznesu daily. Between 2019 and 2020 a terminal for loading wheeled cargo and vehicles will be opened in the Gdańsk harbor. Additionally, the Central Port will be constructed between the Gdańsk Naftoport terminal and the harbor’s mouth. The new harbor’s design should be ready by the end of 2018.

According to „Puls Biznesu”, the development of Polish harbors depends on the coordination of the investments, to make sure they all cooperate, not compete. Marek Gróbarczyk, Minister of Marine Economy, announced that the preparations for the construction of the deepwater terminal in the Szczecin Świnoujście Harbor are advanced. The planned investments are worth ca. PLN 2 billion.

20 billion more

„We will have PLN 20 billion more tax revenue in the first full year of the tax reform,” said Vice-Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. He also added that the money will be spent on the 500+ program and retirement reform.

Thanks to tightening the tax collection system, this year the Finance Ministry will recover as much money as Poland received last year in EU funds.

„This year we will recover for the Polish budget as much money as last year Poland received in EU funds,” said the politician during the 12th reunion of Gazeta Polska Clubs in Spała. This was possible thanks to „the fact that the Ministry of Finance tightened the tax system by introducing advanced IT tools and bid data analysis,” he added.

Poland decides about Polish energy

„Only the Polish government decides about the sources of energy supply to Poland,” said Piotr Naimski, Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure, when commenting on the statements of Austrian and German politicians according to whom „Europe’s energy supply is a matter for Europe, and not for the United States of America”.

„This is a strange statement by the German politician, because for quite some time the issues of energy security have been discussed on two planes – economic, which is clear, and political,” explained Naimski to the First Program of the Polish Radio when commenting on the joint statement by German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel and Austria’s Chancellor Christian Kern.

They criticized the US Senate bill, which introduces new sanctions against Russia, which include measures against European companies that cooperate with the Russian energy sector.
