In October 2019 the European Commission approved an investment worth EUR 130 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) consisting in the expansion of the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście. The project will increase the regasification capacity, storage and ensure easy transmission from the LNG terminal. – ERDF funding was possible due to the important regional dimension of the project. Gas coming from the terminal will be sent via newly built interconnectors to other countries, including the Baltic States, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine – emphasized the Commission in a press release at the time.
At the beginning of October last year, Polskie LNG, the company responsible for the terminal, signed an agreement with Selas-Linde, which will provide SCV regasification devices – equipment necessary to increase the regasification capacity of the facility from 5 to 7,5 billion cubic meters annually.
