Bundesnetzagentur, the German energy regulator, has announced that Nord Stream 2 will not be excluded from the EU gas directive.

The Federal Network Agency explains this decision by the fact that the exclusion can only cover projects that were completed before May 23, 2019. Nord Stream 2 has not been completed yet.

On 15 May, the adjudicating chamber rejected Nord Stream 2 AG’s request to exclude Nord Stream 2 from the regulation of the part that runs through German territorial waters. – All European Union countries had the opportunity to submit their objections. Ten countries have used this right – informs the regulator.
