Equinor and Polenergia are talking about the domestic supply chain and are waiting for the offshore act

Equinor and Polenergia organized workshops for supply chain companies for the first Polish wind farms in the Baltic Sea. 95 entrepreneurs took part in meetings organized by Equinor and Polenergia for potential suppliers and companies interested in the development of offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a series of six workshops was available on-line, which did not prevent the establishment of good relations and ensuring dialogue between international suppliers of offshore technology and domestic entrepreneurs who in the coming years will create a supply chain ensuring the implementation of the first offshore farms in Poland wind power. – The participants of the October workshop had the opportunity to discuss the schedule of the OWF Bałtyk II and OWF Bałtyk III investments as well as the preliminary rules of the upcoming procurement process. The workshop was open to all representatives of the supply chain and covered topics related to, among others, with wind turbines, foundations, electrical systems, onshore and offshore substations – we read in the announcement of the Norwegian company.

Equinor and Polenergia, as one of the players on the offshore wind farm market in Poland, plan to further develop and achieve the stage of readiness for the construction of Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III offshore farms with a total capacity of 1,440 MW by 2023.- The necessary condition is the fastest possible adoption and entry The relevant law will enter into force at the beginning of 2021, which will establish the appropriate framework and provide adequate financial support for the further development of offshore wind farm projects – both companies appeal. In Poland, Equinor together with Polenergia implements three offshore wind farm projects: Bałtyk III, Bałtyk II and Bałtyk I. Equinor is the operator of these three wind farms in the phase of development, construction and operation.
