Poland and France discussed the construction of an NPP
Polish-French talks were held in Warsaw about the possibility of cooperation in the implementation of the Polish nuclear program and the need to protect nuclear power in the European Union.
The Ministry of Climate and Environment published a press release after the meeting attended by Minister Michał Kurtyka, Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure Piotr Naimski and Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Adam Guibourge-Czetwertyński with Minister Francek Riester.
– During the meeting, Philippe Crouzet, the newly appointed High Representative for cooperation with Poland in the field of civil nuclear energy, presented the details of his mission. The President of the EDF Management Board Jean-Bernard Lévy, accompanying the French delegation, presented the EPR reactor technology offered by his company and the experience from the projects being implemented, the ministry informs. – The parties also discussed the issue of cooperation in the European Union regarding the role and importance of nuclear energy in the EU climate and energy policy. In particular, it was agreed that it is necessary to ensure that nuclear energy is taken into account in a sustainable taxonomy.
