PKN Orlen will be the leader of the Masovian Hydrogen Valley

PKN Orlen has taken the role of a leader in the development of the Masovian Hydrogen Valley, which will include 16 entities already experienced in developing this technology. The company will be responsible, among others, for establishing the Valley, defining its goals and preparing a strategy.

„We undertake business activities based on a clearly defined goal: by 2050 we will be an emission-neutral group. We are aware that hydrogen will play an important role in the transformation process, which is why we are determined to develop this future-proof technology. We implement ambitious projects, incl. as part of the international Hydrogen Eagle program, thanks to which we will become the leading producer of hydrogen in Central Europe. The Masovian Hydrogen Valley is an initiative that will bring tangible benefits to the concern, as well as to the Polish economy, facing the challenge of creating a new energy system based on low- and zero-emission sources,” says Daniel Obajtek, President of PKN ORLEN.

Poles may exclude Huawei from building a 5G network

China’s Huawei may be considered a high-risk supplier under the new cybersecurity act in Poland.

„The key regulations assume that a body consisting of politicians and their elected persons will assess which equipment manufacturers guarantee the security of the Polish network and which do not,” reports the Wirtualna Polska website. „To be clear: the law on the national cybersecurity system will, of course, not even mention the company – Huawei. On the other hand, the design of the regulations (those already presented and those announced) indicates that it is the Chinese giant that will be considered a “high-risk supplier” from whom equipment will not be purchased. And the one already purchased will have to be replaced after a few years,” the portal reports.
