Discussions on Baltic Pipe safety in the U.S.

The Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zbigniew Rau, visited Washington, and one of the topics of the talks was the safety of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline, which began work in the time of Nord Stream 1 and 2 leaks, which NATO considers sabotage.

The minister visited Congress and spoke with House of Representatives speaker Nancy Pelosi. Minister Rau also raised the issue of energy security, emphasizing in this context the importance of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline and the active use of renewable energy sources by Poland during the discussion panel of the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

PGNiG booked gas regasification capacity at the Klaipeda LNG terminal

Klaipedos Nafta (operator of the LNG terminal in Lithuania) has resolved the procedure for allocating regasification capacity at its LNG terminal. As a result, PGNiG was able to regasify six TWh of liquefied natural gas annually, which corresponds to over half a billion cm of the gaseous raw material. The booking is valid from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2032.

– Liquefied natural gas plays an important role in the process of diversifying supplies both in Poland and in Lithuania. Thanks to the long-term booking of the regasification capacity at the Klaipeda terminal, PGNiG will be able to use its competences in the field of LNG trading to increase the availability of gas to recipients in both countries – says Iwona Waksmundzka-Olejniczak, President of the Management Board of PGNiG.
