Another Poland-US deal on cooperation in nuclear energy

During the fifth summit of the Three Seas Initiative on October 19, an intergovernmental agreement was concluded on cooperation between Poland and the USA in the development of the Polish Nuclear Energy Program and the civil nuclear industry in Poland.

During the video interview, the government plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure Piotr Naimski and the US secretary of energy Dan Brouillette concluded an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation between Poland and the USA in the development of the Polish Nuclear Energy Program and the civil nuclear industry in Poland.

– This morning, I was proud to sign an Intergovernmental Agreement to cooperate on the development of Poland’s civil nuclear power program. Nuclear energy will provide a clean and reliable supply of electricity to the people of Poland and must be part of a diverse energy mix – said Secretary Brouillette.

– The thirty-year agreement is to strengthen the strategic partnership of both countries, access to clean energy, security of supplies, but also long-term economic development and a significant technological leap for our country – informs the US Department of Energy.

The US Department of Energy recalls that during his visit to Warsaw on July 6, 2017, US President Donald Trump declared that „America is ready to help Poland and other European nations to diversify energy suppliers, so that they will never be held hostage by only one supplier who was a monopoly” . This agreement fulfills this promise, is an opportunity to strengthen the strategic partnership of both countries in the field of energy, contributes to the diversification of energy sources and Poland’s independence from suppliers using energy as a tool in international relations.
