Naimski: 90 percent of Baltic Pipe’s subcontractors are Polish companies

The government’s plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure, Piotr Naimski, commented on the progress of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline project from Norway to Poland. He noted that the majority of subcontractors in this project are Polish companies.

– Gaz-System selected contractors for important sections of the Baltic Pipe project, i.e. key gas pipelines and compressor stations in the country – reminded the minister. Agreements are to be signed soon. The project is progressing according to schedule.

– Since 2017, Gaz-System has spent almost five billion PLN on its investments. Almost 80 percent of the companies that carry out work under the Gaz-System investment program are entities with Polish capital. The remaining 20 percent are foreign companies, general contractors. 90 percent of subcontractors are Polish companies. In this sense, it can be said that Gaz-System’s investments are very important for the development of the Polish economy. The operator’s policy is to support Polish companies in this long-term investment process, Minister Naimski assured. – They grow along with these investments and now they can be the organizers of these multi-million projects. The investment policy of our operator, because Gaz-System is one hundred percent state-owned, supports the operation of these companies – he said.
