Canadian high hopes for SMR technology that is to arrive to Poland

The Ontario Province is sure the SMR technology that is to arrive to Poland thanks to Orlen Synthos Green Energy will be successful.

“We are entering the next phase by investing in small nuclear reactors, especially in locations where there are already large nuclear plnts,” said Todd Smith, Ontario’s Minister of Energy, at a meeting with reporters.

“We are sure we will achieve our goal in 2029 thanks to our SMR partners,” Smith ensured. “Then another reactor will be built in Tennesee and then more. I am sure many will be also constructed in Poland,” he added.

Ontario Power Generation owned by the Canadian Provice, Tennessee Valley Authority from the USA, GE Hitachi and Orlen Synthos Energy are cooperating to design a standard BWRX-300 reactor model in order to build it across North America and Europe. OSGE would like to have its first reactor in 2029.
