Tchórzewski on energy transition

Former Minister of Energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski spoke at the National Economic Summit in Lublin, where he referred to the assumptions of the Polish energy strategy.

– There is pressure from the European Commission, but it is led with understanding. Can we afford to spend EUR 100 billion on transition? There is an expectation from the European Commission, but I do not know if it is our commitment to accelerate with the changes. Poland can afford these investments, but you need to talk about it publicly, you need to communicate with the society to what extent people are willing to pay more for electricity in order to undergo the transition, i.e. replacing some energy sources, such as coal-fired power plants, which can still be used for some new sources of energy generation – said former Minister of Energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski.
