„Russia is using fear or, if all else fails, a threat of a disaster, but one that would not have a global impact. The Russians are doing everything to make us afraid to support Ukraine. However, threats are most effective when they are not carried out,” said the editor-in-chief of BiznesAlert.pl Wojciech Jakóbik in conversation with WirtualnaPolska.pl. He also emphasized that the Russian logic was different from the rest of the world. „They think differently, they are unpredictable,” he added.

Jakóbik also referred to the situation of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, which is currently closed for safety reasons. „It is not producing any nuclear energy, it is powered from the outside. However, there is still radioactive material on its territory, which must be stored in accordance with safety rules,” he stressed.

„One can imagine that someone from Russia will blow up the cooling system, there will be an explosion that will locally pollute the area and it will be a humanitarian, social, environmental disaster, of course, but it will not be a second Chernobyl or Fukushima. In addition, it should be borne in mind that such an incident will also put at risk areas within Russia. This is why it seems that only the Kremlin way of thinking could lead to such a scenario,” Jakóbik told the portal.
