PWEA: Liberalization of the distance act will take place in mid-2021

The Polish Wind Energy Association predicts that the liberalization of the distance act allowing the development of onshore wind energy in Poland will take place by mid-2021, when the organization’s annual conference is going to take place.

– Not only the renewable energy industry, but also the industry, especially energy-consuming, calls for the liberalization of the 10H rule blocking access to the cheapest energy on the market from onshore wind. This need was noticed by the government, which started working on the amendment to the distance act. We expect that the main barrier blocking the development of new onshore wind capacities in Poland will be removed in the first half of 2021 – says Janusz Gajowiecki, head of the Polish Wind Energy Association.

PWEA invites to its annual industry conference, which will be held in mid-June. – Discussions during the PWEA2021 Conference will be dominated by expert analyzes and participants’ debates on the impact of wind energy on the recovery of the economy after the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the role of this technology in the implementation of the European Green Deal and the National Reconstruction Plan – the organization announces.
