PGNiG and PKN Orlen will invest in green mobility after merger

PGNiG and PKN Orlen will invest in green mobility. The merger of these companies is to provide funds for the implementation of their plans.

PGNiG Vice President Arkadiusz Sekściński and PKN Orlen Director Maciej Wagner spoke about the future of both companies during Impact 2020 conference. They raised the issues of hydrogen, electromobility and green energy. PGNiG sees hydrogen as an opportunity in transport, as is currently the case with LNG and CNG, said Arkadiusz Sekściński. Vice President of the Management Board of PGNiG for Development.

– We, as PGNiG, will not produce hydrogen vehicles, but we can already start the process of producing hydrogen as fuel. This is actually the domain of fuel companies, but we also want to build hydrogen vehicle charging stations as our research station. We observe the dynamic development of vehicles powered by CNG and LNG. We assume that it will be the same with hydrogen – said Arkadiusz Sekściński, vice president of PGNiG for development. He added that hydrogen can also be used in the energy production process in the energy sector.

Wagner said that climate neutrality is an opportunity for PKN Orlen. – In terms of mobility, however, we have to wait for the emergence of consumer trends and the improvement of the technology that is still maturing – said Maciej Wagner, director of the energy asset management office at PKN Orlen. He emphasized that it is necessary to wait for how consumers of the mobility sector will behave and adapt the offer to their preferences. – New consumer habits must settle down – said Maciej Wagner.
