The Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy, announced via social media that Poland had received a bank wire from the REPowerEU program. The amount is five billion euros, which is to be invested in green energy and technologies that support it.

The REPowerEU program is part of the National Recovery Plan worth nearly EUR 60 billion. It proposes numerous changes in the state’s energy sector.

“The reforms include measures to improve the authorisation procedures for renewable energy sources, remove barriers to connecting renewable energy sources to the grid and promote green skills. The new investments are aimed at supporting the energy transition, including electricity transmission and distribution networks and offshore wind farms,” the European Commission said.

REPowerEU was introduced after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, its purpose is to make the EU member states independent of Russia and its raw materials.
