What goes on in Poland on the 29th of October.

The government has not approved the offshore act. It is not known what about the liberalization of the distance act

Despite the announcements of officials, the Polish government did not adopt the draft offshore act needed for offshore wind farms at the meeting. The next opportunity will come in November. It is also unknown whether the government will liberalize the distance act limiting onshore wind farms.

Ireneusz Zyska, Deputy Minister of Climate, quoted by BiznesAlert.pl, announced that the offshore act describing the support mechanism for the development of offshore wind farms would be the subject of government deliberations and, after adoption, it would be submitted to the Sejm so that it would be adopted in November and could enter into force at the beginning of 2021. This is important for the offshore wind farm industry that needs an investment signal.

According to BiznesAlert.pl, the offshore act has been blocked by ministers who are not conducive to the development of offshore wind farms. The liberalization of the distance act limiting the construction of onshore wind parks has similar problems. After Jadwiga Emilewicz left the government, the change in the regulation lost political support and is not going forward.
