RMF FM: Trump will propose the construction of a nuclear power plant in Poland to Duda
RMF FM reporter Krzysztof Berenda reports that the Americans are to offer Poland the construction of a nuclear power plant during the visit of President Andrzej Duda to the White House. RMF FM argues that they will want to present technology and performance, as well as suggest a loan for the entire project during the meeting with Donald Trump.
– The topic of the nuclear power plant was already raised during Andrzej Duda’s previous visit to the United States. Now – as we hear from both the Polish and American side – details are to appear – says RMF FM.
The governments is working on the concept of the company that will concentrate Polish coal assets
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin said in an interview with journalists that the government is preparing a concept to create a company that would concentrate Polish coal assets.
– We’re working on such a project. We are preparing such a program, it must be a program for several decades, because it is an idea for the functioning of our energy sector in the near future. It seems that it is a good idea to build two legs of the Polish energy sector: on the one hand, based on renewable energy sources, and on the other, what is and will be the basis of Polish energy for many years, i.e. coal assets. It would be good if they functioned in another entity focused only on coal. Such a project gives a chance to maintain coal assets using mechanisms such as the capacity market, and on the other hand will give great development opportunities in this part of the energy sector that today reaches for new energy sources – said Jacek Sasin.
