Poland’s gas storage facilities almost full

Gas storage facilities in Poland have been filled to 90 percent, as part of preparing the country for the heating season. Last year they were full in October.

According to data on the website of Gas Storage Poland, the operator of the gas storage system, gas storage facilities are full at 100 percent. The data is provided as of 6:00 AM on August 4, 2024. At the beginning of the day the facilities held 33,445.5 GWh of gas.

Last year, gas storage facilities were filled to 100 percent in October. Then as the heating season started the reserves began to drop, but in early 2024 the amount of stored gas started to go up again.

On June 28, 2024, Orlen announced the signing of the final document closing the sale of Gas Storage Poland to Gaz-System. This was the condition indicated by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) for the merger of Orlen and PGNiG.
