Polish Briefing: Coronavirus hits Polish government | PGNiG and Orlen together can make up to 20 bln PLN

Polish minister of climate and plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure are having COVID-19 disease. They are in isolation for two weeks. PGNiG announced that it can make together with Orlen up to 20 bn PLN of EBITDA.

Coronavirus hits the government

Minister of climate Michał Kurtyka and plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure Piotr Naimski announced that they have coronavirus and are staying in isolation for two weeks in line with state health regulations. They were part of delegation to Silesia coal talks with unions last week. Minister of state assets Jacek Sasin also present on this meeting reported that his COVID-19 test was negative and he continues normal office work.

PGNiG and Orlen together can make up to 20 bn PLN of EBITDA

PGNiG CEO Jerzy Kwieciński announced that PGNiG and PKN Orlen together could make up to 20 bln PLN of EBITDA if the governmental plan of fusion succeeds. Orlen is to lead the process of PGNiG takeover and is formulating an appeal to European Commission which is to decide on what circumstances such transaction is in line with antimonopoly regulations in European Union. Orlen is to overtake Lotos after it fullfills EC demands formulated this summer.
