Polish Briefing: Minister of Climate talks to the Youth Climate Council

What goes on in Poland on the 1st of September.

Kurtyka: We give the youth a voice, because they will be the future of the planet

Climate Minister Michał Kurtyka opened the online session of the Youth Climate Council. Its purpose is to cooperate with the ministry to create a law promoting climate protection.

– Young people decided to devote time to joint reflection with us on how our civilization and our country should develop, how our voivodships and regions should operate – assessed the conference host. – This challenge related to climate, ecological and environmental policy is very personal. It is not only technology and technology, on which a lot depends, but also our personal commitment and activity, said Minister Kurtyka.

– We hope that you will increase the participation of young people in shaping ecological attitudes around you thanks to the experience of working with the ministry – declared Michał Kurtyka. The council is to meet regularly and give opinions. – It is a body, in principle, beyond organizational and political divisions. We give a voice to young people, because they will be the future of our planet. Poland needs young people, their energy and commitment, who will be ready to devote their time to the community. Our civil society is active, but we still have a long way to go.

– The Youth Climate Council will be a kind of school of social involvement and dialogue for us – concluded Kurtyka.
