Robert Perkowski, vice-president of PGNiG, spoke at Congress 590. – We are in a completely different place than other European Union countries. Poland and PGNiG have been talking for years about the risks that have materialized – said Perkowski.

– Baltic Pipe is connected to the area where the deposits are exploited and the gas is evacuated to the market. The construction of this gas pipeline does not reach a new region, it creates a new, independent route, which we can consider as another pillar of diversification – said the representative of PGNiG. – The current situation is not perfect. Of course, we would prefer to have general gas availability on the German market and everywhere else. Nevertheless, we are in a better situation in this situation than other European Union countries.

Poles and Ukrainians have been talking for years about the new Poland-Ukraine gas pipeline. The conditions for establishing such a connection were developed by the American USAID agency. Poland, Ukraine and the USA have an agreement on cooperation in the gas sector in the region, and Polish PGNiG is already sending gas to the Dnieper. An investment decision has not yet been made regarding the Poland-Ukraine gas pipeline. There is a potential chance for EU funding for this connection, as reported by BiznesAlert.pl.
