Kwieciński: Poland can give Ukraine a hint about the energy transition

The CEO of PGNiG Jerzy Kwieciński talked to radio Wnet.fm about the contract for gas exploration in the Lviv region in Ukraine. – We have just signed a very important document that opens a new stage of cooperation between PGNiG and the Ukrainian partner ERU – said the head of the company.

Jerzy Kwieciński said that, in accordance with the agreement concluded by PGNiG with Energy Resources of Ukraine, joint exploration and production activities will begin on the Ukrainian side of the border with Poland.

– These investments are very beneficial for Ukraine, which is at the beginning of its transition. We can sell them many ideas for modernizing the economy – stressed Jerzy Kwieciński.

The guest of Radio Wnet spoke about the progressive independence of the Polish economy from gas from Russia. Meanwhile, Ukraine must prepare for the reduction of gas flows through its territory. – If our search turns out to be successful, it means a reduction of Ukraine’s export needs – noted Kwieciński.
