What goes on in Poland on the 27th of December.

Poland can speed up its FSRU project

Gaz-System is planning the launch of the FSRU in 2026. Work has already started on the construction of gas pipelines that are to transport gas from this facility across Poland, and perhaps also beyond the borders. The Ministry of Climate and Environment has been talking since spring 2022 about talks with the Czech Republic and Slovakia about suppliers on their territory.

According to BiznesAlert.pl, investors have time until mid-2023 to declare what capacity they would like to book in Gdańsk. Gaz-System takes into account the possibility of providing 6 to 12 billion cubic meters of gas annually, depending on market needs. The new president of Gaz-System, Marcin Chludziński may strive to accelerate the FSRU.

The climate ministry hopes for a distance act liberalization

The Ministry of Climate and Environment hopes that the Sejm will update the distance act at the beginning of 2023. – If I were the Speaker of the Sejm, I would say it will be proceeded 100 percent. We are very interested in this regulation – says Minister Anna Moskwa in an interview with the Rzeczpospolita daily.

– Certainly, there is determination and openness to dialogue on our part, because my ministry is very keen on this regulation, said the Minister of Climate and Environment.

– We will continue to talk about it, argue for it and justify the proposed solutions. We also did another survey of support for 10H. Poles believe that this distance should be revised and social participation should also be increased – because this act in the media space functions only in such a simplified model of 10H/500 meters. Perhaps in many places it will still be 10H, because that’s what the local community will decide. We have created such regulations so that the residents have a decisive vote – she said.
