Climate summit in Bonn is lauching. It is a ground for next year’s conference in Katowice

Climate summit in Bonn is preparing ground for next year’s conference in Katowice, during which new directions of realization of global climate agreement are going to be set – said the minister of environment Jan Szyszko.

COP23 in Bonn started on Monday and will last for almost two weeks, until 17th November. The presidency over the 23rd UN conference is held by Fiji. Germany is a technical organizer.

It will be crucial, because we have to set a road to realization of a global climate deal that will be in power from 2020 – said the minister.

60 countries agreed that a new implementation package for the Paris Agreement will be accepted next year in Katowice.

Waldemar Pawlak promoted an interconnector from Kaliningrad. Proves for corruption in prosecution?

Ex-vice-prime minister and leader of Polish People’s Party Waldemar Pawlak intensively strove for building a connection between Poland and Kaliningrad Oblast, where a new nuclear power plant was to be built. Journalists stress that it happened in spite of the fact that the project could have harmed the interests of Poland and the Baltic states that want to get independent from energy from Russia. The object in Kaliningrad would make building a nuclear energy on one of the countries more difficult.

It confirms BiznesAlert.pl’s information that the prosecution looks at possibilities of accepting a financial or personal advantage by ex-vice-prime minister.

Poland will reduce CO2 emissions by 20 per cent until 2020

The Doha amendment about CO2 emissions reduction was headed to inter ministerial consultations – informed Polish Press Agency. Accepting the amendment will confirm on UN forum that Poland will reduce CO2 emissions by 20 per cent until 2020.

– The amendment was headed to inter ministerial consultations. Once they are discussed and announcing a bill allowing the president to ratify the document, it will go to the Sejm – reports Polish Press Agency.
