Talks are underway to create a sectoral agreement for the energy storage industry

Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, Ireneusz Zyska, indicated during a conversation with journalists behind the scenes of the EuroPOWER 2022 conference that the idea of creating a sectoral agreement on energy storage had arisen. The agreement would be aimed at coordinating the activities of various sectors in order to increase the Polish share in the energy storage segment.

– The idea of creating such an agreement was proposed to us by the representatives of the energy storage sector themselves, including The Polish Association of Energy Storage, as well as the Polish Chamber of Energy Storage, as well as entities related to the distribution of electricity – said Ireneusz Zyska.

– The idea is to increase the share of Polish companies in the domestic and global supply chain. This will strengthen the position of Polish companies and our country in the world of energy transformation, he added.

The climate ministry is working on the amendment of PEP2040

The Ministry of Climate and Environment is working on updating Poland’s Energy Policy until 2040 (PEP2040).

– Intra-ministerial consultations on the update of Poland’s Energy Policy until 2040 are ongoing. Later, the discussion will take place at the level of individual ministries involved in the creation of PEP2040. Then there will be public consultations. We want to have this update ready as soon as possible. We want the new energy policy to be as up-to-date as possible. It is supposed to be ambitious and creating, not conservative as it has been so far. I am not criticizing the present document, but the reality has exceeded expectations on many levels. The change in the geopolitical situation itself has a great influence on it, too, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Ireneusz Zyska told journalists.
