Technology from the Antipodes will help Polish energy

Technological cooperation of Australian companies with Polish gas sector is a main subject of a conference organized by the embassy of Australia and the Polish gas networking operator Gaz-System. Australia is one of the largest gas producers and exporters.

Australia explores gas in a large scale, mainly from offshore deposits, but also from unconventional ones. Most of the mining is exported as LNG. Australia’s export abilities are to cross 100 billion m3 of LNG a year. Main markets, to which Australian LNG is headed are in Asia – Japan, China, South Korea, but also Taiwan, India or Malaysia.

The participants of the meeting stressed that its subject is not Australian gas trade. Piotr Naimski said, that even though „nothing can be excluded”, because world gas marked changes very quickly, „no gas transport from Australia came to Europe yet, and the costs of transport are theoretically counted much higher than from any other place in the world where LNG is produced”.
