What goes on in Poland on the 20th of July.

The climate ministry will encourage but not force energy saving

The Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, does not expect any regulations on compulsory fuel and energy saving in the times of the energy crisis. – Saving should become our everyday lifestyle. I hope that the change will take place in the European Union and Poland permanently, and we will learn to function in a new way – said the Polish Minister of Climate and Environment.
– I believe that we are able to come to an understanding in a good social contract – Anna Moskwa replied to BiznesAlert.pl’s question, rejecting the idea of introducing regulations to reduce the consumption of energy and raw materials in Poland.

Gaz-System does not want to race for floating gas terminals

Gaz-System is working on getting a floating gas terminal, but it is not urgently needed due to the decline in gas demand in Poland caused by the record prices. – Before Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, we were monitoring and assessing a big dynamic of growth in demand for natural gas in Poland, and when we were updating the ten-year development plan, it turned out there was a need to build such an installation for 2027-28 with a safe buffer – said Tomasz Stępień, president of Gaz-System.

– However, the surge in gas prices in Poland meant that the demand for gas in our country decreased and we no longer needed this vessel as much. In our case, haste is inadvisable, because we are in a different situation than Germany, said the president of Gaz-System, referring to the German plans to get up to six floating LNG terminals, i.e. FSRU units, in 2022/23. – Rushing into this is not a sensible move, but the project is still being carried out.
