What goes on in Poland on the 6th of July.

The government unlocked onshore wind farms

The government approved the liberalization of the distance act, allowing the construction of onshore wind farms in Poland, subject to the consent of local communities.

– Today, the Council of Ministers adopted the act on investments in wind farms, the so-called the 10H Act. Why now? The priority of our energy policy is the diversification of energy – said Minister of Climate Anna Moskwa at a press conference. – This act is first and foremost an element of the decision-making process on the location and method of implementing an onshore wind energy investment. The act introduces space for dialogue of the local community.

The so-called 10H rule limiting the possibility of building onshore wind farms to a distance from buildings ten times greater than their height in the distance act, in practice blocked new investments. Liberalization allows to shorten this distance after consulting local governments.

The Yamal gas pipeline does not temporarily transport gas from Germany to Poland

The reverse gas pipeline via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline from Germany to Poland has been suspended due to renovation works, according to data from the German gas transmission network operator Gascade.

Deliveries via Mallnow to the east are reduced by 100 percent capacity from 05:00 July 5 to 05:00 July 7 due to maintenance work taking place at the compressor station.

For this reason, reverse pumping through the Yamal gas pipeline will be suspended for two days. Until December 2021, the pipeline was one of the main routes for Russian gas supplies to Europe. From mid-December, gas transmission from the East to the West ceased. Since then, PGNiG has been able to import gas from Germany.
