The prime minister tells energy companies to buy coal

Onet informs that Polish Prime Minister told the state owned companies to purchase 4,5 million tons of coal for the needs of households by the end of October, before the heating season in the time of the energy crisis.

Onet saw the Prime Minister’s regulation, which ordered PGE Paliwa to buy 2,5 million tons of coal, and Węglokoks 2 million tons by the end of August.

Coal shortage in Poland was estimated by its sellers at 5 million tons. It is used by individual consumers for heating. Coal in the power industry comes almost entirely from Polish producers. In response to Russia’s attack on Ukraine, the European Union introduced an embargo on Russian coal, which was popular in Poland due to its low price.

Tauron reached an agreement with the trade unions

Tauron reports an agreement with the group’s unions to raise wages in response to inflation and intensified work to increase coal mining in the time of the energy crisis.

Trade unions in Tauron demanded pay rises and threatened to protest. After several dozen hours of talks, an agreement was reached. – The Management Board of the Tauron Group reached an agreement in talks with the Social Council operating in our organization. This agreement will not adversely affect the financial condition of the Tauron Group and will allow us to consistently implement the investment process and energy transformation based on well-qualified staff – said Paweł Szczeszek, president of the Tauron Group, in a comment for BiznesAlert.pl.
