Polish Briefing: USA responds to Germany and Russia – Nord Stream 2 will not be built

New Toyota engine will be made in Poland

Toyota Motor Europe announced, that in 2020, it will start the production of a new generation petrol engines in Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland in Jelczu-Laskowice. The investment is worth PLN 400 million, what will enlarge so far Toyota engagement in production investments in Poland up to nearly PLN 4,5 billion – informed the Ministry of Development in a communique.

Newest engine generation has been designed using a global designing platform by Toyota (TNGA – Toyota New Global Architecture). The engine with a battery will be used in hybrid installations and in conventional version. It will be used by Toyota models that will appear on the market from 2020.

USA responds to Germany and Russia: Nord Stream 2 will not be built

An American diplomat convinces that Nord Stream 2, criticized by the USA and countries of Central and Eastern Europe, will not be built.

At a press conference, Deputy Assistant Secretary John McCarrick said that he cannot see a possibility to build Nord Stream 2. – This thing will not come true – said the politician.

– There are many reasons why it cannot happen…the last one is that we are against it. We see no chances for it happening, so why should I consider any other option – wondered McCarrick quoted by Radio Free Europe. American president has time until 1st of January to consider introduction of sanctions against Russia proposed by the Senate, including a proposition to sanction the subjects engaged in Russian energy projects, like Nord Stream 2.

McCarrick’s statement appeared on the day of common declaration of German foreign minister Sigmar Gabriel during a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Moscow that Nord Stream 2 should not be subjected to EU regulations. Supporters of such solutions claim that this could make realization of the project impossible
