Polish Briefing: Przewozy Regionalne eliminate white spots on Poland’s communication map

What goes on in Poland the 22nd of January.

Communication spine

– We as Przewozy Regionalne (eng. Regional Transport) are the backbone around which other investments are made. Cooperation with voivodship marshals is very good, so we hope that they will help us present a good offer for passengers – said the company’s president Krzysztof Zgorzelski in an interview with BiznesAlert.pl.

Asked about the role of Przewozy Regionalne in eliminating the “white spots” on the communication map of Poland, Zgorzelski said that his company, as the largest passenger carrier in virtually every province outside of Masovia and Silesia, is a communication backbone in Poland: – Tracks will not reach anywhere, that is why it is obvious that they are based on the integration that we are ready for. We are starting to do so, for a small scale due to the restructuring plan. We want, with the favor of the legislator, to be able to eliminate white spots on the communication map of Poland. We know that the Ministry of Infrastructure is working on amendments to the Act on public collective transport, which stipulate that the organization of bus connections will fall under the competence of marshals who are not only our shareholders, but also organizers of transports made by us. Being aware of the fact that cooperation with voivodship marshals so far has been very good, we hope that they will help us present a very good offer for passengers – said Zgorzelski.

The new train stock in five years

Train stock policy is one of the instruments that can help increase the number of passengers. What do Przewozy Regionalne plan in this area? – The restructuring plan assumed the modernization or purchase of a new stock. We want to function very well as a company, and the element of this is the ability to invest according to the market demand. We are at the finish of conceptual and planning works, and the issue of obtaining financing remains, which will allow us to modernize or obtain a new rolling stock within a five year perspective – concluded the president of Przewozy Regionalne.
