Pursuant to Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/459 of 16 March 2017 establishing a network code on capacity allocation mechanisms in gas transmission systems and repealing Regulation (EU) No 984/2013 (CAM NC), GAZ-SYSTEM, jointly with operators of adjacent transmission systems, assessed market demand for incremental capacity for the second time.

With reference to the press releases published by Ukrainian companies, i.e. Uktransgaz and Naftohaz, on the increased available gas capacity of 6.6 billion m3/year for the Poland-Ukraine interconnection, GAZ-SYSTEM informs that the existing gas infrastructure at the Polish-Ukrainian border does not allow for transmission of such a volume of gas from Poland to Ukraine.

The completion of the Lwówek-Odolanów gas pipeline is another crucial stage in the implementation of the Company’s comprehensive investment plan, which will allow for diversification of the directions and sources of natural gas supplies to Poland.

On September 6, 2019 GAZ-SYSTEM initiated construction of the Polish part of the Poland-Slovakia gas interconnector. The gas pipeline will connect the gas node in Strachocina (Podkarpackie Voivodeship) with the Slovak compressor station in Veľké Kapušany.
