The new Silk Road is a wonderful advertising slogan. However, it looks less attractive from backstage in the neighborhood of Poland. This is a corruption scandal in China, interests with the Czech president and the war against PKN Orlen, writes Wojciech Jakóbik, editor-in-chief of BiznesAlert.pl.

At BiznesAlert.pl, from the very beginning, we have been examining the initiative of „One Belt, one Road”, called the New Silk Road. Can Poland make money on this initiative so as not to harm itself and the transatlantic community?

The New Silk Road, referred to by some as the largest infrastructure project in history, was the topic of discussion at the Europe-Ukraine Forum in Rzeszów under the patronage of BiznesAlert.pl. According to the minister of infrastructure, the initiative makes sense in so far as it improves the transport integration of our region.

China’s One Belt One Road (OBOR) project was formally introduced by Chinese President Xi-Jinping in 2013. The project, aimed at integrating trade and investment in Eurasia, encompasses over $900 billion in planned investments of infrastructure across Central and South Asia, the Middle East, and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
