The Ministry of Climate and Environment wants to increase funds for the development of biogas and biomethane by two billion. In addition, it aims to produce 420 MW from biological gas in the Polish energy mix.

During the meeting of the Sejm Committee on Energy, Climate and State Assets and the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Minister Miłosz Motyka spoke, referring to Poland’s plans for biogas.

He declared that the Ministry of Climate and Environment and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and water management requested more funds for the development of biogas and biomethane. The fund will grow from 1 to 3 billion PLN.

“We are in the final stages of funding this project. I hope are approaching a happy finale,” Motyka said.

The government initially planned to increase the biomethane capacity to 300 MW. The plan changed to 420 MW.
