The offshore act comes into force

The Polish Press Agency informs about the entry into force of the act on promoting electricity generation in offshore wind farms, known as the offshore act. – The new regulations introduce a two-tier support system for offshore. In the first phase of the support system operation, for offshore farms with a total installed capacity of 5,9 GW, support will be granted by way of an administrative decision by the President of the ERO. The possibility of entering this system ends on June 30, 2021, which results, among others, from from the upcoming new RED II directive, stipulating that the support systems for RES are to be competitive. The applications provided for in the regulation must be submitted to the President of the Energy Regulatory Office before March 31, 2021.

The US will keep supporting the Three Seas Initiative

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke about US support for the Three Seas initiative. – The US has strongly supported the Three Seas Initiative from its inception as it relates to many of our common priorities – admitted Blinken. – Your efforts to strengthen energy security are necessary from the point of view of the security and stability of the region and the whole of Europe – he added. – Better infrastructure will help us to achieve better climate goals together.

– I admire the use of public-private partnerships by states as a prudent way to bring about the implementation of large infrastructure projects – he assured. In his opinion, enlarging the Three Seas Fund will allow for more effective implementation of infrastructure projects and confirmed that the Americans will subsidize it.
