The presidents of Poland and Lithuania will support bilateral cooperation and the Three Seas Initiative

The Council of Presidents of Poland and Lithuania is to support the economic cooperation of these countries. The Three Seas Initiative is also expected to continue to be a tool for growing cooperation in the region.

– There is no doubt that our entrepreneurs suffer from the lower quality of transport, digital and energy infrastructure. That is why we are promoting the Three Seas project which evokes the idea of cooperation from the times of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. This may be the answer to the problems of our entrepreneurs – said President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda during the Poland-Lithuania Economic Forum. – We have created a wide coalition of countries gathered around the Three Seas Initiative. It is based on the principle of solidarity, which is particularly important in times of a pandemic. It must be the foundation of European integration.

According to the president, the tools for achieving this goal must be the CEE + index, the Three Seas Fund and the Three Seas Business Forum. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda revealed that a council of Polish and Lithuanian presidents would be formed to deepen bilateral cooperation between these countries.
