Polish Briefing: Trzaskowski on energy transition, Duda on water policy

What goes on in Poland on the 6th of July.

Trzaskowski: EU funds should be used for the energy transition of Silesia

During the visit to Silesia, the Civic Coalition candidate for president Rafał Trzaskowski referred to the situation related to mining and energy transformation.

– See what happens with coal, how many millions of tons of coal are imported from outside Poland, and it was supposed to be completely different – said the candidate during the rally.

– For a real transformation of Silesia, one should use money from the European Union to move away from coal for years to take care of jobs and create new ones, to make Silesia flourish again, because without Silesia there would be no Poland – he emphasized.

Duda: Eco-card is my declaration of support for the fight for climate protection

On Friday, President Andrzej Duda presented the Eco-Card, which – as he said – was a declaration of his strong support for initiatives for clean air, renewable energy, efficient use of water resources, proper waste management and increased expenditure on ecological education.

The President visited the construction site of the Lower Silesian Sports Center in Jakuszyce on Friday afternoon, where he presented an “Eco-Card” containing proposals for Poles regarding environmental protection.

– This is a declaration of my decisive support for initiatives already started and those for clean air, development of renewable energy sources, efficient use of water resources, nature protection and proper waste management, as well as the promise to take further actions to increase expenditure on ecological education and promoting these values among children and young people – said Andrzej Duda.
